The Camp

Playing around a Fitness Studio

“Amp It Up”

–The Neptune GLITZ architecture & interiors

‘The Camp’ embraces a brutalist and functional aesthetic, positioning itself as a holistic health club beyond a standard fitness studio. Equipped for all users, from professional athletes to those needing wheelchair access, the space emphasises overall mind and body fitness. The design cleverly delineates the workout area from the service zone using glass fencing and architectural details. The workout zone is marked by a forest green colour and a starry black rubberised floor, contrasting with the lighter concrete textures and warm oak furnishings of the reception, consultation room, and changing areas. Graphics of Superman and Wonder Woman decorate the changing rooms, while design elements such as ropes integrated into the reception desk and a rock wall symbolise strength and vitality.

The interplay of light, texture, and form defines The Camp’s immersive environment. Expansive east and west-facing windows flood the space with natural light, while thoughtfully placed circular diffused lights ensure a glare-free workout experience. The yoga studio, designed for versatility, fosters calm and focus, accommodating pre-natal, post-natal, and dance sessions. Beyond aesthetics, every detail enhances function—materials, colours, and spatial planning collectively foster an atmosphere of motivation and inclusivity. The design not only reflects the dynamic energy of the fitness space but also reinforces its philosophy of strength, resilience, and holistic well-being.
